A coach in your ear.
A trainer that does the maths.
Cadexa controls your smart trainer in ERG mode, watches your heart rate and speaks only when it matters. Structured workouts, real routes replayed as gradient, and easy days on foot. Everything runs on your phone, offline, with no subscription.
iPhone · Works with any FTMS smart trainer and any Bluetooth heart-rate sensor · Simulator included
Three ways to train. One coach.
Every session is built from your FTP, your heart rate and how hard you want today to be. The coach watches the numbers so you can watch the road.
Structured workouts
4 × 4 VO2max, 30/15s, threshold, sweet spot, endurance, recovery. Targets scale from your FTP and your effort setting, so the same session works at 70 % on a tired day. Or just ride: one steady target, no finish line.
Real routes indoors
Import a GPX or TCX from Strava, Komoot or RideWithGPS and the trainer replays the hills. The next kilometre is on screen, colour-coded by gradient. Steep kicks are called before they arrive, and you can ride against your own best.
Easy days on foot
Easy walk, hill walk, recovery stroll, mountain hike, and two runs. Coached by heart rate, with distance, pace and climbing from your phone's GPS. Good days for the heart, not the ego.
A coach, not a cheerleader
Spoken cues at the moments that matter: the next interval, one minute left, a heart rate still climbing, a cadence dropping. Calm or energetic, your choice. Quiet the rest of the time.
Afterwards
Sync to Strava, with a map for outdoor sessions. A share card with the numbers and the shape of the ride. A fitness estimate that updates from your rides, no test required.
A training partner
It reads your history and suggests today's session with a reason you can disagree with. Three hard days in a row? It will say so.
Pair once. Then just ride.
Pair your trainer and sensor
Cadexa finds any FTMS smart trainer and any Bluetooth heart-rate strap or watch broadcast. It remembers them. No hardware yet? Use the built-in simulator.
Pick a session, set the effort
Choose a workout, a route or a walk. Slide the effort to how you feel. Targets, cues and the trainer follow.
Ride. The coach talks, the trainer does the rest.
ERG mode holds the watts. The coach tells you what is coming and when to shift. Afterwards you rate how it felt, and the next suggestion adapts.
Zones that respect how your heart actually responds.
Most apps derive everything from an age formula. Cadexa keeps three numbers apart: the maximum you estimate, the peak you have actually observed, and the alert you or your clinician chose. It never invents a limit for you.
On medication that lowers your heart rate? Tell Cadexa. Zones then follow the heart rate you really reach, and the coach waits for your heart to respond before it says anything about it.
For riders training under medical advice.
Heart Mode does not restrict your training. It watches more closely and makes the safe move one tap away.
- A quick check-in before each session: how you slept, how you feel, any symptoms.
- An “I don't feel right” control that eases the trainer off at once and keeps recording.
- Earlier, calmer cues when your heart rate is still climbing or is approaching your alert.
- A plain-text report of every session you can share with your clinician.
Only what you need, when you need it.
Your trainer already speaks the language.
Cadexa uses the FTMS Bluetooth standard, so there is nothing to install on the trainer. Any Bluetooth heart-rate sensor works, including a watch that broadcasts heart rate.
Short answers.
Is there a subscription?
No. Cadexa runs entirely on your phone. There is no account, no server holding your data and nothing to renew.
Does it need an internet connection?
Only for Strava sync and importing routes. Riding, coaching and history all work offline.
Is Cadexa a medical app?
No. It is a training app that takes heart-rate limits seriously. It never sets a limit for you, and Heart Mode is a monitoring layer, not a treatment. Follow your doctor's advice.
Can I add my own workouts?
Not yet. You can scale any workout's effort, and “Just ride” lets you set any target. Custom workouts are on the list.
Android?
iPhone first. Android is planned once the iPhone version is on the App Store.
