CADEXAREVIEWS

Cadexa Gear Compatibility

Does your trainer work with Cadexa?

Three honest layers for every function: what the manufacturer declares, what should work on paper, and what the Cadexa team has verified with the app on real hardware. Protocol support alone is never shown as verified.

Power measurement

Verified compatible
  1. Layer 1 · Manufacturer-declared protocol support

    Manufacturer declares Bluetooth FTMS.
    Declared
  2. Layer 2 · General technical compatibility

Power is read from the FTMS Indoor Bike Data characteristic. Expected to work; see verification.
    Expected to work
  3. Layer 3 · Verified with the Cadexa app

Verified compatible
  1. Layer 1 · Manufacturer-declared protocol support

    Manufacturer declares Bluetooth FTMS.
    Declared
  2. Layer 2 · General technical compatibility

Control goes through the FTMS control point. Trainers differ in how they implement it, so this stays unverified until tested.

  3. Layer 3 · Verified with the Cadexa app

4 × 4, 30/15 and threshold sessions: Request Control, Start and Set Target Power acknowledged; targets followed through every block.

How to read the result

Verified compatible
Tested by the Cadexa team with a stated app version and firmware. Evidence is shown.
Partially compatible
Works with a known limitation, which is stated.
Not compatible
Either verified not to work, or the trainer lacks the protocol the app relies on.
Not yet tested
Nothing verified. Layer 2 tells you whether it is expected to work.

What the app uses

  • Bluetooth FTMS for trainer control: target power (ERG) and indoor bike simulation (gradient, rolling and wind resistance).
  • Bluetooth Cycling Power Service as a read-only fallback for power and cadence.
  • Bluetooth Heart Rate Service for any strap or watch broadcast.
  • No virtual 3D world or avatars. Routes are ridden as gradient, with the road profile on screen.
  • Bluetooth only: the app does not use ANT+.
  • Available for iPhone. No Android release has been published.
